Last year I asked if anyone had any unused postage stamps as I'd like to have them for mail art. I like to participate in Kristina Werner's Mail Art monthly but I also like to work on mail art to send cards to family and friends. I will say it is a labor of love.  Kristina Werner is a master at Mail Art. If you've never seen Kristina's videos please view a few of them on YouTube. You will  be amazed at her work.

My House Mouse team mate, Sue Kment and my friend Darnell Knauss sent me some unused postage stamps and oh what fun it was to get them. Then my husband asked his cousin if she had any. Y'all, they arrived last week. Some are still sitting on my dining room table as I am going to meet with the local stamp collector's club next week to purchase some stock books. OMG! I was stunned at the amount of stamps his cousin sent me. They aren't worth anything other than face value which is great because I don't want expensive stamps. I'm not collecting them, I am using them. The stamps of the owls and the trees were glued down to thick black paper. I thought these were great but I couldn't use them. Or so I thought. The president of the local stamp club said put them in cold water and after a while they'll sink down to the bottom and seperate. It worked. I'll be able to use them by adhering with a glue stick. He said he's gotten what looks like bricks of stamps all stuck together and he just throws them in the bath with cold water. Who knew?

Here is the first picture of group 1

This is the 2nd picture of group 2

These are the stamps that were glued down to  thick black card stock and magically came un-glued with nothing but cold water and time. These are lovely stamps. Most of the stamps I received I've never seen before.

  2. Hi there Bunny. This is so clever and really lovely. Thanks so much for sharing with us at Word Art Wednesday. I hope you know by now how very much it means to me and how very grateful I am to have you share your art in our challenges. I got your package ready to go, but still need to mail it. It will get there eventually, I promise. Shouldn't be much longer. Sorry for the delay.
