Whimsy Stamps - Freebie digital image called Dudley TP
Artist - Dustin Pike
There have been a lot of great free digital images that have been drawn by some talented artists for our use during our stay at home order. It's generous that they've shared these images with us. I've been meaning to color this image up for a while. I colored quite a few of them as they will be going to some fellow volunteers. I've been sending them cards every now and then to break up some of the boredom and stress for them. Everyone likes to get some fun snail mail once in a while. I know I do!
There are 2 colorists that I follow. One is Jennifer Dove and the other is Barbara Sproatmeyer. Both artist have competitions once in a while with each other and other artists. It's fun to see what they challenge each other to do and how they can change an image with their creativity. A great example is how Barbara changed the free Dudley image below and what an excellent job she did, y'all. I love the eyes and the patchwork of quilt materials. A nice pin cushion and some scissors and thread. Dudley just turned into a quilter.

I tried to color the eyes like Barbara did but they didn't turn out so well so I e-mailed her and asked if she would please make a tutorial on Dudley's eyes and she said "yes". Y'all, that made me happy. I can't wait for the tutorial. I put glossy accents on the eyes on my card. Those aren't white lines even though that's what it looks like with the camera bouncing the lights off of it. The camera doesn't always cooperate.
You certainly have been busy making all those Dudley cards. I love all of them and Barbara surely did a great look making the toilet paper that way.
ReplyDeleteYour fun cards are lovely Bunny and are sure to fetch a smile to people's faces, cute image, papers and sentiment and fab colouring too.
